The Story Behind Mía And More’s Commercial Heavy-Duty Sugarcane Juicer
The remarkable success of Mía & More wasn’t built on a bed of roses. It was forged through a 6-year battle with 40 “corpses” of failed juicers, countless sleepless nights, and the grease-stained hands of our founder, Mr. Nhat Dinh. From the heartbreak of $3,000 to $4,000 machine that gave up – the axle snapped after only 64 days to finally earning the hard-earned reward of ETL Sanitation certification in the U.S

Starting from Scratch
Few realize that behind Mía & More’s success today was actually a fierce, uphill battle against sugarcane juicers. At age 39, our founder, Mr. Nhat Dinh, made a bold and unexpected decision: to go back to school and start from scratch as a complete beginner in mechanical engineering.
The “Broken Juicer” Nightmare
For Mr. Nhat Dinh and Ms. Hoang Thuy, the founders of Mía & More, our biggest nightmare wasn’t the grueling hours of staying up late and waking up early to prepare for opening – it was seeing our juicers break down right in the middle of a rush. Everything would suddenly grind to a halt.

The broken sugarcane squeezing machines
We found ourselves trapped in a vicious cycle: Open for business – Sugarcane juicer fails – Lose customers – Buy a new juicer. Within just 10 months, 12 machines met their “end” one after another right in our shop. At one point, we bit the bullet and invested $3,000 to $4,000 – a small fortune at the time into the juicer dubbed the “most expensive, top-of-the-line” model on the market. We hoped and prayed it would end our sleepless nights.

But reality had other plans. That juicer also gave up – the axle snapped after only 64 days. Back then, not a single sugarcane juicer on the market could meet Mía & More’s rigorous standards.
It became clear: not a single sugarcane juicer on the market could meet Mía & More’s rigorous standards. At the edge of a dead end, instead of continuing to look for another temporary fix, we made the riskiest decision of our lives: to stop searching and start building our own juicer.

At Mía & More, we poured every bit of our time, heart, and life savings into pursuing three goals many called “unthinkable”:
- Authentic Flavor: The juicer had to produce a rich cup of sugarcane juice while preserving its vibrant green color and the pure, authentic flavor of traditional sugarcane juice.
- Absolute Durability: The juicer had to run continuously with minimal repairs, ensuring our business never missed a beat.
- NSF Certification: Meeting the highest sanitation standards to protect our customers’ health.
This idea marked the beginning of a grueling 6-year journey – where sweat and grease forged the daring, can-do spirit of Mía & More today.
The Moment We Broke Down in Joy… But It Wasn’t the End
In October 2018, our journey of “self-rescue” officially began. Every bit of our life savings and every ounce of our heart was poured into those first blueprints and the long, grueling months of living and breathing steel and machinery.
But for every blueprint that brought hope, reality struck back with crushing disappointment. Some prototype juicers went up in smoke the moment they started; others had their axles snap after just a few stalks of cane, right there in the workshop. Dozens of prototypes ended up in the scrap heap before they could even take shape. With every failure, our hard-earned money vanished, yet Mr. Nhat Dinh would quietly pick up the salvageable parts and start all over again. He said: “If it breaks, we fix it. I refuse to believe it can’t be done!”

Tough repair process with many trials and errors
We still vividly remember the day the first fully completed “Made by Mía & More” juicer arrived in the U.S. As we unboxed it and saw the machine standing tall after all those long days of waiting, Mr. Nhat Dinh and Ms. Hoang Thuy laughed through their tears. To us, it wasn’t just a machine; it was our lifeline – the very faith of our entire shop.

The first ‘Made by Mía & More’ juicer was shipped to the U.S.
At that moment, our founders breathed a sigh of relief, thinking simply: “We’ve finally reached the finish line. The storm has passed!”
6 Years of Relentless Battle – A Journey Built on Grit
We had to endure the heartbreak of seeing 13 beloved designs scrapped and 40 failed machines pile up. To us, those weren’t just scraps of metal; they were our capital, our sweat, our sleepless nights, and our tears of helplessness. Our finances were drained, and our spirits were deeply shaken. Looking at those 40 ‘corpses’ of failed juicers, we couldn’t help but ask ourselves: Are we just chasing a dream? Is there truly a way out of this?

Failed sugarcane juicer models
After six long years of ‘battle,’ our Commercial Heavy-duty sugarcane juicer was finally born. It is more than just a juicer; it is the masterpiece born from thousands of sleepless nights.
